Volunteer Lawyers Service provides free legal services to eligible charitable and nonprofit organizations in Ontario. Here is what you need to do if your organization is interested in applying for assistance:
1. Review the eligibility criteria
2. Complete and submit the online Client Application Form
3. Compile any required attachments and mail, email or fax to:

Once the application is reviewed and approved, your organization will be matched with a lawyer in your community. Depending on the type of legal issue you have, this process takes between two to four weeks.
Once a successful match takes place, a letter of agreement between the lawyer and the organization may be drafted outlining the scope of services. Disbursement costs are extra and are the responsibility of the organization.
Please note that when you apply, we can address only one single legal matter at a time. If you have a second matter that arises, you must re-apply to have that new matter assigned to a lawyer.
